I don't know a single person who doesn't like chocolate chip cookies, or OREOs for that matter! Combining th two just makes sense; these cookies are so good. I couldnt wait for them to finish baking - 10 minutes has never felt so long!
These cookies use everyday ingredients:
The kind of OREO you use will dictate the flavor the cookies have. I like to use original OREOs, but you can also use golden OREOs, or one of their fun seasonal flavors! It is better to stick with any variety that is not double stuff - all the extra cream makes the OREOs more likely to fall apart during mixing.
the steps for making these delicious cookies is just as simple as any other drop cookie recipe:
step one: stir together the dry ingredients
step two: cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy, then add the eggs and vanilla and beat well
step three: add the flour in 2-3 smaller additions, mixing well after each
step four: fold in the oreos, chocolate chips, and white chips
step five: drop the cookies onto a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until just starting to turn golden brown
These OREO chocolate chip cookies stay good in a sealed container for a few days on the counter, You can also freeze the cookies in a freezer safe container or baggie once baked, but I prefer to freeze the dough if I don't need the whole batch. The cookies made from frozen dough taste just as good as (if not better than) non-frozen dough. ayou can either freeze the dough as-is, or preportion cookie dough balls and freeze. If cooing dough balls from frozen the cookies will be slightly thicker and may require extra time to finish baking.
