I love brussels sprouts. I will eat them pretty much any way, from shredded in a salad to boiled and plain. My favorite way, however, is to roast them! The sweet and tangy flavors of the maple and balsamic combined with the nutty flavor of brussels sprouts makes these even better! This easy side dish is ready in less than 30 minutes for a healthy and delicious accompaniment to almost any meal.
just a handful of ingredients are required:
The tangy balsamic flavor pairs perfectly with the taste of brussels sprouts, but in my opinion it needs a bit of sweetness which is why I prefer to use balsamic glaze and maple syrup. It is a little bit of a subtler flavor when done this way and doesn't overpower the taste of the sprouts!
Cleaning brussels sprouts is easy! For this recipe all you need to do is remove any withered outer leaves, then slice in half lengthwise. If your brussels sprouts have a thick stalk on them you can trim it shorter, otherwise just leave it. Trimming it too short will cause the leaves to fall off.
these maple and balsamic roasted sprouts are very easy!
step one: place halved brussels sprouts on a foil lined baking sheet, drizzle with oil and salt and toss to evenly coat
step two: roast in the oven at 400 F for about 15 minutes, stirring halfway through
step three: while the sprouts roast, stir together the maple syrup and balasamic glaze
step four: drizzle the balsamic maple mixture on the sprouts and roast an additonal 3-4 minutes to carmelize the sugars
I had mine on the table for my Thanksgiving turkey dinner this year, but you can eat this with anything, from ham, to a baked chicken breast! I like them best with a protein and a carb pairing for a classic dinner.

Preheat Oven to 425 F, line a baking sheet with tin foil
Spread the prepared brussels sprouts onto the baking sheet, then drizzle with olive oil and salt and toss to coat
Roast in preheated oven 12-15 minutes, tossing halfway through, or until tender with some browning; meanwhile mix the maple syrup and balsamic glaze in a small bowl
Drizzle the maple mixture over the sprouts and return to oven to roast an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the glaze has darkened and is bubbling; serve warm
